Mark 7 Jul 2010I was getting 1-866, 877 & 888 calls constantly. I found out what company was making them (MDS Communications) and went to their site and at the bottom of the page there is a MDS Do Not Call List, click on it and put in your info. I did this 3 weeks ago and have not received a call since. I can't say for sure all the numbers below are MDS's but all calls with the numbers below stopped shortly after filling in the info on MDS's site. The area codes are 888, 877 & 678. If this is a fundraiser, it might be legit, as I recently donated to an organization that I hadn't before. However, I don't answer calls from "unknown". Always be suspicious of calls from 888 & 877. Also, if the last 4 numbers are "0000", I understand that is a fraudulent number.Reply ! Rebecca 6 Aug 2010I called the number and confirmed it is MDS Communications....they fundraise for charities and political groups, non profits. You can go on their website and click on the bottom to be added to their DO NOT CALL list....it didnt say how long it would be before they stop calling you once placed on the list but when I returned the phone call their pre recorded message said a "few weeks". You can leave your name and phonr number....tell them if you want all calls stopped or just to certain organizations. Says that you will be on their DNC list for 5 yrs. http://www.mdscom.com/
