A rate per minute charge of $9.95 was given and then I was asked to press #1 if I would accept the call. The name of the person calling collect was not given. I immediately hung the phone up.

Of course I didn't accept, but them calling SO much makes you start to think if it IS legit..but I still didn't accept! Phone Number Report: This number called my wife's cell phone continuously Sunday night (2/12/12) and again starting at 6:59 Monday morning. Calling the number in my caller ID resulted in a female voice message stating "...Someone who may know you attempted to call from a correctional facility telephone..." I'm sure I know some people in correctional facilities. After all, I am a Judge. And when my wife gets calls like this, I begin to worry about our safety -- and take the appropriate steps to ensure we are safe. My wife had to spend money having the call blocked, so that she could still use her phone. I contacted the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and they said they never heard of Secureus, or whatever their name is. I've found from various complaint lists that this number has been connected to several different "inmate call billing" company type names. If it is a "for real" type company, they need to come up with something better than forcing you to pay for the call BEFORE you can find out if it is some family member, etc. My suggestion is -- if you are a Correctional Facility using this company -- that you discontinue their services until they figure out how to do this right. On the other hand... if this is a scam, you should start running. Fast, fast, fast.... ...and hope that I'm not the judge you get when you're caught!
