I have 5 calls in 5 days! Even if I pick up it is a recorded msg not a person. Calls are at various times of the day - noon, 3 pm, 8 pm. I have no intention of ever calling them back!

Phone Number Report: I keep getting called by this number which is a recording that usually says "We are contacting you to duscuss a personal business matter. Please call back at 866-640-5206." Today I got a recorded message that said "We are contacting you about your student loan. Please contact us at 866-640-5206." There is no student loan. There is no identification of a company. It's very annoying and it should be stopped.

Phone Number Report: This number called my mother saying they were trying to get ahold of me regarding my student loan. No one had ever tried to get in touch with me. When I called them back to see what was going on, they asked for my mother's phone number. Once they 'entered in the number' they asked if I was Brandy so-in-so. I said no. They said okay, well, someone must have put your mother's number with the wrong student. We'll delete her number. They never asked me for my name or anything. It was highly suspicious. I am grateful my mother didn't give them any personal information about me.

I dont answer the phone most of the time if I dont know who it is.. there are some people I Just plain dont want to talk to, and in many cases if you dont have a name with your Callers ID it's prolly you I dont want to talk to.

Phone Number Report: They kept calling and leaving messages for "Amy XXXXXX" (they last name was the same as mine), but never gave an option to let them know they had the wrong person. My wife finally pressed "1" (which is what "Amy" was supposed to do) and told the operator they had the wrong number and not to call us ever again. They haven't called in about 3 weeks, so we thing that was effective.

Phone Number Report: These calls are from Student Assistance Corporation (SAC), a "corporate entity" of Sallie Mae, which is the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT (check out salliemae.com). Your government, in the form of SAC, is spending taxpayer money to hire these debt collectors. They get REALLY pissed when you call them debt collectors, which is OK since they treat EVERYONE like dirt. They don't care if they call the wrong person -- even if you are not in default on Federal student loans, they will still treat you rudely, WITH THE BLESSING OF THE FEDERAL GOVT. They use extremely aggressive, but very typical, debt collector tactics, like bullying, intimidation, insult, and threats, EVEN IF YOU DON'T OWE ANY MONEY. BTW, Verizon Residential will not block their number unless I pay them for the privelege. Nice, huh? One way to combat SAC and Sallie Mae is to compain to your Congressman. This is Federal Funding used to bully and threaten innocent American citizens, and Congress should be aware. Use this site to find and e-mail your representative: https://forms.house.gov/wyr/welcome.shtml. Use this site to find and e-mail your Senators: http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm. It'll take ~10 min to cut and paste the same e-mail to your 3 Congressmen -- well worth your time. Looks like the NY Attorney General sued Sallie Mae and won -- maybe with enough complaints, we can get other state agencies or even the Feds to affect some change. They can verify your identity with your FULL NAME ONLY. If they don't, it's because they DON'T WANT TO. They are typical sociopathic debt collectors who get their jollies from making honest, hard-working people feel like criminals. Why? Because it works. For every 1,000 people they chew up and spit out, they will, eventually, find the one right person they were looking for. Who cares if they intimidated, bullied, and threatened 999 innocent people. DON'T BE THEIR NEXT VICTIM -- FIGHT BACK THROUGH CONGRESS.
