Phone Number Report: Called my home number at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday. Caller ID said "VM Center." This was a recorded call from Emily's List (a Democratic Party PAC) drumming up support for Christine Gregoire in her re-election campaign for Governor, while pretending to be urging people to contact Gregoire about children's health care. From what little I know about election finance law, this is borderline if not actually illegal, but little things like legality don't seem to be carrying a lot of weight in Democrat campaigns this year. They called once before about a month ago, with a real person, and I asked to be taken off their calling list. Obviously, it didn't work. I held until the call cut off, but there was no opportunity to opt out of calls in the future.
