By the way, for those of you who were told that you cannot cancel the service, CONTACT THE BBB! They WILL help you and the company WILL cancel your service.

Phone Number Report: I also received a call from Garden State Readers and unlike most of you, i chose to take out the service... I also spoke to Linda and I find it hard to believe that she was rude. She was one of the sweetest people i have dealt with and was very upfront on all the charges i would be paying to have the service,$1.99 a week, $8.60 a month and my billing was doubled so i only have to pay for the 1st half of my service. I have since gotten the magazines and love the service, They allow u to switch the magazines when every you want, and you end up getting alot of extra at NO COST at all, This is not a Scam... take it from me, if you like to read this is a GREAT deal!!

Phone Number Report: Beware...old lady called and sweetly asked a brief survey with 5 questions. She thanked me and told me that I would get a $5 gift card for completing the survey. She then told me, "It gets better" that I qualified for 3 free magazines. I explained that I was not interested in magazines. Then she hung up (without taking my address to mail my gift card.) When I called GSR back and spoke the a customer service manager (Linda), she was rude, pushy, and obnoxious. She offered to send the $5 gift card but only after charging me a $4.95 shipping and handling fee. She explained the magazines are "free" with a $1.99 per week processing fee. This is a scam. Beware! Hang up on GSR. (And btw, the number is on the 'Do not call' registry.)

Phone Number Report: They called me and asked me to do a survey, which I did, and then told me I could get magazines as a free gift for completing the survey. I only had to pay postage! They said they would charge me every 2 months. They have been charging me twice the amount that was agreed upon and will not let me cancel. They also tell me that I agreed to the amount they are charging me, which is not true. I told them that since I cannot cancel, I was going to change my credit card number, and they threatened to send me to collections! It's a scam! Be careful. The only safe way to get magazines is to get them straight from the source, not third parties! They are just as bad as those kids that go door to door

Phone Number Report: They are another one of those companies that tricks u into spending tons of money on magazine subscriptions by telling u that u pay next to nothing, then they charge you double, triple, even more! And tell u that you can not cancel! They also sell ur information to other companies that send you magazines and try to bill u for it

Phone Number Report: Yep, I got scammed by these people too. They didn't tell me until a few weeks after I agreed to everything and ordered that I can not cancel. Now they refuse to cancel, even though I went to the BBB about them. They're saying that they have a tape of me agreeing to everything, even agreeing to the fact that I can't cancel... they obviously edited the recording. I'm waiting to see where this goes but there's no way this company is going to get my money. I know they've been reported to the BBB numerous times, as well as the Attorney General.. so I don't understand how they're still in business. Anyway, if these people call you, DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR INFORMATION. It's a HUGE scam.

Phone Number Report: Called me at work asking to take a survey for them. I am the only one is the office and was busy, yet I obliged to take the survey. Then came the offer for magazine. I said ok, thinking they could just send me the info and I can decide weather or not to do it. I did pay the $19.45 to start and then igot a call on my cell to "confirm" it and I was driving I said yes (I know- my own fault). Once I got the paper work I decided I didn't want it. I called and was told I can't cancel because I confirmed it OVER the phone. I don't want these magazines after all. After really having time to think about it, I don't have TIME to read all of these magazined!! I want out!

No integrity..they WON'T CANCEL. Only reduce services. A customer should be able to cancel at anytime for services that they don't want.

The magazines came but now I'm sick of them and THEY WON'T STOP. When I called the company they said that I still owe over $300 and if I don;t pay it they will send me to collections. This is a SCAM and unless you want to be trapped in a contract forever DON'T TRUST Garden State Readers (gsreaders)
