Phone Number Report: If you are receiving collection calls, more than likely the collections dept is outsourced to a 3rd party who can only process payments and doesn’t have access to your Credit or Bank account information due to credit privacy laws. I personally request them to prove WHO they are.
“If you are _____ please prove it by verifying my last payment, and or currently scheduled one? (Which they cannot). This leads to my ability to tell them I am concerned that this is a phishing scam and that unless you can validate this information, I will not continue the call. Tell them, that All future transactions must be in writing through the mail.”
And let’s be honest yes it’s fun to torment them back however if your bank doesn’t trust the company handling its collections to confirm previously scheduled payments then why would I want to trust them with handling my payment.
