Phone Number Report: Rec'd call on Sunday. Identified himself from Maritz Research and wanted to speak to the person who is the principal driver of our new car. I told him that he's not available. He asked when he will be available and I told him 11PM thinking that he will never call so late. Then I called the number on my caller ID and the recording stated that Maritz was a research facility only, not telemarketing, and as such, are permitted by law to make these research calls. But if we want to be put on Maritz's Do Not Call List, the number to call is 1-800-864-8601. I called, it's automated, and I left my telephone number. It states that it may take up to 3 days to get onto the list. I'll post again if they call at 11PM!

Phone Number Report: maritz research. Get this call once or twice in a day or at least once a week. Why was the do not call list created when it doesn't work. I have signed up for it twice and still get at least 5 calls per day by callers that I have no idea who they are or why they are calling. I always figure if it is a legit call they will leave a message. Strange thing is most of these caller's numbers seem to non working when you try to call the number back.

The automated machine state that this is not a sales call and they comply with state and federal no call list. I have never asked any company "Meritz" to contact me. If this is computer generated calling I was under the impression that was a no-no. Granted research doesn't fall under the category of telemarketing, but I am sure that I have a pamphlet somewhere that said it still had to be a real live person dialing. Even holding on the line for almost a minute doesn't get a voice aknowlegment. The only time I've been bothered with a person was late in the evening, when I was waiting for a call about my mom, who was close to death (in another state) This gal started off saying they weren't selling anything, and my credit card account was all right. She wanted to ask a few questions about the service we were receiving. We haven't had ANY credit cards in years. At the very least they are using practices detrimental to their "clients."
