Caller Type: Telemarketer
Phone Number Report: I've been called once or twice a month by these idiots & am on the Do Not Call list like many others. They say it's some option to get my credit card rates lowered. I push "one," politely request to be taken off the list & get hung up on like others too.
Today I asked to speak w/a supervisor and was told by the guy on the line that it doesn't matter how many times I call, I'm not going to be taken off the list & he hung up on me. Needless to say, I'm not amused.
Really liked one poster's idea of just giving them phony info & wasting their time. Just might be ornery enough to try that if they call one evening or weekend & I have free time. These folks are some of the lowest forms of humanity.
But the way to go was another poster's idea on the 800notes.com site (http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-520-301-4398/3#p382857636495145645)
Here was the tip, I'm definitely looking into it with my phone provider:
"Unfortunately any calls like this do not have to go by the do not call list. We are on it too but I was told calls like this don't count..they aren't considered telemarketers? But here is what I have been doing to these phone calls all day LOL If you have selective call forwarding with your phone provider set it up to forward the phone number calling you to a business you know that has gone out of business. I have been adding phone numbers to the list all day with my phone provider I'm allowed to put on 12 numbers. And believe it or not I am up to 6 got 6 more slots to go. What will happen is if they call my number it gets forwarded to a disconnected number (the business that went out of business). When the robot dialer his the beeps before the message this number has been disconnected it releases your number from the robot dialing. I know for a fact it is working because I have two numbers that have called here 4-5 times a day everyday for months and I just started doing this and got NO CALLS from them today for the first time YAYYYYY. Any other numbers that call I don't know are getting added to the call forward list. :)"
