Caller Type: Unknown
Phone Number Report: Yeah, we just got a phone call from this number today. But what I think you guys shluod know is that , now, it appears, they've changed their ways. For us it was lady instead of a man. She said her name was Angelina and had some kind of accent; but not Indian. It was as if she was drunk or high or something and sounded really annoyed (as if there was some kind of feud going on between her and us). When we picked up, she said Can I talk to _____? and we replied No, _____ is not here right now, _____'s out. thinking that it was a telemarketer calling once again. Then, we were surprised when she asked Where is _____ out to? That's when we realized that something was wrong. Then came another irrational question: Why is _____ out? We went along with it and tired to get her to hang up but she keep pressing us. Literally, she told us Connect me to _____ RIGHT NOW. I want to talk to _____. We jumped when she said I know _____ is there. I mean what the !!! So, we gave the phone over to _____ and she still said Connect me to _____. Don't lie to me. I want to talk to _____. Finally, after quite a bit of confusion and aggravation, this so-called Angelina gave up I guess and ended the call with Forget it before hanging up.I thought this was worthy to note because they didn't ask for any fax number from us or even mention anything about websites or domains. And it wasn't even close to sounding like a call from any company. Like I said, it sounded as if someone had been, well, cheating on her.We went along with the call because we thought it might have had some significance since it sounded urgent because it was like she had a personal vendetta or something. What I'm saying is that this number now seems to be venturing into OTHER ways to get information from you than just a fax and stuff about Domains. So, we thought this would be helpful into identifying this scam: for us, the call came through an operator. I dunno why but it did but it did. Please wait while we connect you Please wait while we connect you the called sounded COMPUTER GENERATED. The voice didn't get any angrier nor did it elevate in volume, pitch, etc. There was also a glitch. Angelina said, if written in words, would've been something like yourrrr-rr. So, if you're worried, like we were, that it IS indeed a valid call of some crazy drunk person, simply ASK THEM TO PRONOUNCE THE SAME WORD DIFFERENTLY since computers lack that ability (i.e. we have a strange last name so we simply asked Oh, you mean [alternate pronunciation 1] or [alternate pronunciation 2]). If they keep saying the word the same way, well, it's a clear sign you're talking to a computer and being scammed. Hope that helps more.WHY WONT THE GOVERNMENT DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS??!! THIS IS OBVIOUSLY BIG ENOUGH TO DESERVE SOME KIND OF ACTION FROM THEM!!
