I don't know the details of the pitch other than it sounded fishy to me. So I got the number a nd did some follow-up calling of my own, including calling the number from the caller id. When I called the number from the caller id I got some foreigner from only God knows where who refused to speak to me because I did not have credit cards (never have, never will). The only Info he gave me was the name of a company ... he claimed to be calling on behalf of USLegalAid. I found this website, it has a different phone number and I called it. I spoke to a nice person and explained there might be a problem. The person I spoke to said they don't cold call. She spoke English very well. I am forwarding this info to the Attorney Generals in MO & KS. If someone calls you - a foreigner claiming to be calling on behalf of USLegalAid - from an 877-516-2058 or 305-330-9155, do not give them your Social or other personal ID info. And, as always, check the company out with the BBB before you make any arrangements with any one.
