Phone Number Report: I was trying to establish an account on a free website for public domain legal documents and simply following the instrucitons I was given in the process. I didn't know I was "subscribing" to ascam until I was texted confirmation, at which point I immediately canceled. I have registered on many, many websites before, and the process was very similar, if not identical. I sign up online, give my email address or cell number, they send a confirmation code via text or email, I respond with the code, and it's done. At no time did it desire or intend to "subscribe" to this service. When I told them so, they still REFUSED to remove the bogus charge from my phone bill.
