According to the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) and most state laws it is considered harrasment if a collection agency calls 2 or more times per day 8am-9pm local time. It is possible to sue collection agencies for harrasment if you are willing to take the time to file and pursue a suit against them. I did collections for a little while a couple of years ago and hated it but learned alot about collection law. I hope this helps as I too have started to receive calls from this company. Phone Number Report: Caller ID: BANK OF AMERICA Rec'd another call from them on March 10, 2009 from 866-315-7101, but did not notate the time of the call. I called Bank of America 3-way which had previously informed me that these were fraudulent calls. Now that I had a BofA rep on the line and a rep from the so called "Bank of America Insurance Services" the Bank of America rep told me that they couldn't confirm that it was fraudulent. The woman that said she was from the insurance department said that they were a 3rd party calling on behalf of Bank of America and that her company name is Global Contact Services. She said they were offering accident insurance for automobile accidents. I was then told that my number would be removed once and for all considering they have been calling for someone that is not me and that my phone is on the DNC and they shouldn't have called me to begin with. I'm going to be giving a call to Global Contact Services and the FTC to confirm all this.
