Phone Number Report: I have received calls to both my home phone number and my cell phone number. In this case, Shelby from the Account Services Company (as well as every other telemarketer who has called from this "company") hung up on me when I tried to get their information. Shelby called from (supposedly) 506.226.4567. This time I indicated that I was on the do not call list and that fact caused Shelby from the Account Services Company to hang up on me. With other solicitors with this same story line, simply asking for their information has caused them to hang up. It's the same scam others have described about lowering my (supposedly too high) interest rates. I have pressed "2" as instructed, asked the solicitors to be taken off their list, and put my phone number on THE "do not call" list, but nothing yet stops them from calling both my house and cell phone numbers!

Had I known the system in place re how it works, i.e. selling my number to unscruplous telemarketers, I never would have joined up. I am disgusted. As soon as my contract with Bell expires, I plan on cancelling my Bell telephone service. I have had enough of this. I am not willing to pay so much for a telephone only to have it abused like this. Today I received a call, Monday, January 26th, 2009 at 10:59 am from a telemarketer who refused to identify themselves, therefore I was unable to get any information from them in order to lodge a proper complaint. Also I was denied the opportunity to have my number put on their do not contact list. The call comes in as a recorded message as follows: A recorded voice of a woman from "cardholder services" saying that I can qualify for a lower interest rate. Press 1 to speak to an operator or press 3 to be removed from the list. I pressed 1 and a man answered. I asked him, "what company are you calling from?" He promptly hung up the phone.
