Phone Number Report: There seems to be a new scam that has taken the place of the Card Services "your credit card interest rate is about to run out" scam. In this one, something called College Advisors is pushing loans (I guess) to further one's education. The first time I received one of these calls (about 2 months ago), I explained with exasperation that everyone in my family of 5 has a college degree (didn't add that 2 have master's degrees, and 1 has a PhD), but the caller kept trying to push me to take "money to go to college." The calls have a different Caller ID each time, sometimes with a name and sometimes just a state. In this case, the ID name was Reuben Winston, but the caller was a woman with a distinct South Asian accent. She didn't identify the company until I asked for it specifically (and had to ask her to repeat it because her accent made it difficult to understand). She hung up when I asked where the company is located.
